Committee Members

We are the current committee members of the East of Scotland Branch of Ataxia UK. Most of these photos were taken at our Branch AGM at Lasswade High School Centre in May 2005. Let us introduce ourselves....(please note that we've changed @ to AT in the email addresses to deter spammers).....

Chairman: Pete Dalby

Pete cares for Liz, his wife, who has Cerebellar Ataxia (SCA 8). Pete has held the role of Chairman before and has generously agreed to help the Branch out again. Liz was formerly a committee member and also a Trustee of the National Committee of Ataxia UK.

Penny Gardner - our Branch Secretary

Secretary: Penny Gardner

Penny has been Secretary of the Branch since we started in 1995 and manages reports of meetings and the mailing list. She works at Edinburgh Napier University and has designed this website, so is the best person to contact if you have any problems or questions about the site.

Frances Wright - our Branch Treasurer

Treasurer: Frances Wright

Frances has been Treasurer of the Branch since we started in 1995. She works at the Sick Children's Hospital in Edinburgh. Frances is a very active fundraiser, often doing the annual Edinburgh to St Andrews bike ride in aid of Ataxia.

Liz Dalby - Committee Member

Committee Member: Liz Dalby

Liz has Cerebellar Ataxia (SCA 8) and has been a committee member since 1999. She was also a Trustee of the National Committee of Ataxia UK until recently. Liz and her husband Pete (our former Chairman) live in Gorebridge and are keen organisers and fundraisers for the Branch.

John Reid - Committee Member

Committee Member: John Reid

John has Friedreich's Ataxia and has been a committee member since 2001. A former shepherd, he lives in Hawick in the Scottish Borders and is active in sports, including curling and horse riding. John produces a Branch Newsletter from time to time and is always pleased to receive stories and articles of interest.
