The AGM on Saturday 5 May 2012 was followed by a meal at the Laird & Dog Inn in Lasswade (nearby and fairly accessible). The meal and service were excellent, tasty and friendly (respectively) and the only problem is the toilet access which involves going right round the building and back in the front door, even then there is still a step! NB We were planning to go to the Polton Inn again, which was the venue for our Christmas meal, but it is currently closed for refurbishment.
Our Branch Meeting on Saturday 24 March 2012 when Dr Richard Davenport talked about the different forms of ataxia and the difficulties of reaching a diagnosis.
Our Branch Meeting on Saturday 21 January 2012 when we enjoyed a meal of haggis, neeps & tatties and a friendly chat.

Our Branch Meeting on Saturday 3 September 2005 was attended by 15 members, including an excellent speaker, Jack Blaik of Edinburgh Social Work and his wife Nancy. The report of this meeting is now on our Branch Reports page.
We meet about every two months at Lasswade High School Centre, south of Edinburgh. The venue is fully accessible and has good car parking. Our meetings are usually in September, November, January, March, and May (our AGM). Over the summer we try to arrange social events rather than a formal meeting.
Bridges, Minto Street, Kirk Brae, Lasswade Road to Lasswade. Pass the Laird and Dog Hotel and take the second right (Polton Road) after crossing the bridge. Half a mile up the hill turn left into Eskdale Drive where the Centre is situated.
A6094 or A68 to Eskbank roundabout, then A6094 to Bonnyrigg. Straight across at traffic lights to Staisade Inn, turn right and sharp right again into Eskdale Drive. The Centre is situated on the left, after about half a mile.
A7 to Esbank roundabout, then as 'From the East'.
Take A1 City Bypass from Gogar junction, take exit marked for Lasswade junction. Follow signs to Lasswade. Pass the Laird and Dog Hotel, then as 'From Edinburgh'. If this map doesn't show up then the user ID is 'napierstudent' and the password is 'craiglockhart' (I have somehow got the site permissions mixed up with my personal website - Penny)
