Visit to the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 24 March

4th joint meeting with the West of Scotland Branch on Saturday 10 April at the Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Country Park.

The Mobility Road Show will be in Peterborough this year, 1 - 3 July 2010. A wee bit far to travel, but in case you are heading south...

Summer 2006

Frances organised a trip to the Falkirk Wheel on Sunday 13 August, hope to have a report on this event soon.

Joint Event with West of Scotland Branch

We had an enjoyable get together on Saturday 1st April 2006 from 2 - 5pm at the Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Country Park. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful - we had scones, cakes, tea and coffee and a good blether! We've now posted some photos from this event, taken by Penny and Anne, on a separate page.

Branch Christmas Meal

The Branch Christmas lunch took place on Sunday 4 December - see Social Events page for a report and photos - and the menu here (although 'kilted sausages' was a bit of an exaggeration, we got one each!)

Summer 2005

BBQ at Almondell Country Park

We held a BBQ at Almondell Country Park, West Lothian, on Saturday 24th September 2005. The venue is near the visitor centre and there was plenty of room for children to play. 15 people came along and we had a good day - even the sun came out eventually! See the photo gallery for pictures of this event.

Boat Trip to the Falkirk Wheel

The Falkirk Wheel is the world's first and only rotating boat lift. The Seagull Trust organises free trips for disability groups, taking one party from the boat house to the Wheel Basin and after lunch in the Basin and a look at the Visitors Centre they pick up a second party and return to the boat house with them. The trip takes about two hours and although they always go to the Wheel on Tuesday and Friday, other days can be organised to suit our specific requirements.

We planned the trip for Sunday 2nd October 2005, but unfortunately the number of members able to come fell below the minimum required, so we had to cancel but we rearranged it for Sunday 13 August 2006. Please let Frances know if you would be interested in such an event in the future: francesATataxia-east-scotland.org.uk.
